Case Study – Dr. Sharma’s Dental Care

Local SEO + On-Page Renovation that turned a tidy clinic into a visible local leader

The situation

Dr. Sharma’s Dental Care ran a clean, well-rated clinic, but Google couldn’t tell the story. The website was a classic local SEO holdback:

  • Pages weren’t targeting specific keywords; services were lumped together.
  • Weak meta titles and meta descriptions across the site.
  • Thin, unfocused content on important service pages.
  • Weak internal linking or clear page hierarchy.
  • Slow homepage performance.
Result: the clinic ranked on pages 4–6 for priority local queries such as “dentist in Kathmandu”, “teeth whitening Kathmandu”, and “root canal specialist near me.” Organic bookings were inconsistent despite a good offline reputation.

Our strategic objective

Create a solid, scalable on-page SEO foundation so Google (and modern AI/LLM extractors) could clearly understand each service, and convert higher volumes of organic visitors into appointment requests.

Success metrics we targeted:

  • Precise one-page / one-intent mapping for each core service.
  • Increased organic visibility for targeted local keywords.
  • Higher organic traffic to service pages and a measurable lift in appointment form submissions.
  • Faster homepage experience to reduce friction and improve conversions.

The execution involves precise, measurable steps

1) Keyword mapping

Mapped each service to a single primary keyword and a set of secondary keywords (search intent layered: informational → transactional → local). Examples:

  • Root Canal → “root canal treatment Kathmandu”
  • Dental Implants → “dental implant specialist Kathmandu”
  • General Dentistry → “family dentist Kathmandu”

Outcome: every page had an explicit target so Google could assign ranking signals cleanly.

2) Service page revamp

Rebuilt each service page from the ground up with a conversion-focused information architecture:

  • Strong, unique H1 that aligns with the primary intent.
  • Keyword-aware H2s: benefits, step-by-step procedure, what to expect, and FAQs.
  • 350–700 words of focused, helpful content per page (readable, trust-oriented).
  • A before-and-after gallery has been added to demonstrate results and increase engagement.
  • Clear calls to action and an above-the-fold contact pathway.

3) On-page fixes

  • Rewrote meta titles and meta descriptions to accurately reflect page intent and improve CTR.
  • Implemented structured data where appropriate (localBusiness / MedicalBusiness snippets) to help SERP features.
  • Addressed thin content and duplicate content issues across the site.

4) Internal linking & site hierarchy

  • Built a logical internal linking map (for example: Root Canal → Crowns → Regular Check-ups → Emergency Dentistry) so authority and relevance flowed between pages.
  • Added contextual anchor text and a service index page to enhance crawl efficiency and user experience.

5) Performance & UX improvements

  • Focused homepage optimizations to reduce load time and improve Core Web Vitals (image optimization, critical CSS, caching improvements).
  • Improved above-the-fold clarity so visitors immediately see services, trust signals, and the appointment flow.

Results

Within the first 45 days of implementing the on-page SEO framework, the website began showing clear, measurable momentum inside Google Search Console.

The performance data shown in the screenshot reflects a 3-month window during and after optimization, highlighting how quickly search visibility began to compound once the foundation was corrected.

Search Visibility Growth (GSC Data)

From the Search Console performance report:

  • Total Impressions: 7.8 Million
This indicates a sharp rise in how often the site was being served in search results, reflecting stronger keyword visibility across primary and secondary service terms.
  • Total Clicks: 17,800+
A growing number of real users began discovering and engaging with the website organically through search.
  • Average CTR: 10.7%
This shows that improved meta titles and descriptions successfully increased user engagement and relevance.
  • Average Position: 3
A strong indicator that many key pages moved closer to the top of Google’s results, confirming improved topical relevance and authority.

Core principles applied

  1. One intent, one page eliminated keyword cannibalization and made Google’s job straightforward.
  2. Content that helps humans (and machines) is applicable, well-structured content that increases dwell time and is extractable by AI/LLMs and SERP features.
  3. Authority through structure, internal linking, and schema communicates hierarchy and expertise.
  4. Performance equals conversions, quicker pages, reduced friction for visitors ready to book.

The Quick Practical Deliverables

  • A keyword map linking services to primary/secondary keywords.
  • Before/After Service Page Templates (H1, H2 architecture, FAQ blocks, CTA placement).
  • Internal linking matrix showing the flow of authority between pages.
  • Performance checklist (image, caching, CSS) and Core Web Vitals snapshot.
  • A short 45-day performance summary (rank changes, traffic %, form submissions %).
